A teacher, coach and facilitator dedicated to the radical belief that it’s totally possible for mothers and daughters to be close — even and especially during the preteen and teen years.
My hunch is someone you trust mentioned my name or we’ve worked together before. Whatever path you took, I’m really glad you’re here!

HOW WOULD IT FEEL IF YOU HAD THE CONFIDENCE OF KNOWING JUST WHAT TO DO AND SAY IN ALL SITUATIONS, NO MATTER HOW COMPLEX THE SUBJECT?
I’m excited to introduce myself and
the Mothering Circle
A safe and intentional space for you to explore, grow and strengthen the bonds with your preteen or teen girl with the experience, resources and brilliance of like-minded Moms.
I’m a mother to two amazing humans and step-mom to five.
I found Mom communities to be an indispensable source of support during my kids’ teen years. My daughter, Anja, was 14 years old and things were tough between us. I felt increasingly disconnected and thought I was losing her. I knew I needed some help navigating all the ups and downs. Frankly, I was drowning in worry and had lost my confidence as a Mom.
My intuition told me something was very off here.

“Jennifer has a gift for making moms of teen daughters feel seen and understood; her wisdom of experience and well-honed mothering tools makes her an irreplaceable guide.”
I followed my instincts that challenged the cultural narrative about mother-daughter relationships during the teen years.
I did NOT buy into the idea that what was happening between me and Anja was “supposed to happen” - that our relationship was supposed to fall apart.
Thank goodness my search led me to find the precious resource of amazing Mom groups and a philosophy that focuses on heart over discipline during the teen years.
Research actually shows that conflict and behavior are most effectively addressed by strengthening the mother-daughter bond, aka our healthy attachment to each other.
I fell in love with this parenting approach and the work is wonderful in this way: an insistence that each mother already knows how to do this.
The Mothering Circle is about becoming conscious and putting into practice the most natural mama ninja moves! I’m not an expert in the conventional sense of the word... I’m just really experienced in showing you how YOU ARE THE EXPERT - you already know how to do this.
Naturally.
The commitment to this ideology transformed my relationship with Anja. I’m sure that Anja and I wouldn’t be in this great place if it weren’t for this work.
Note: My VERY resistant girl - yep, she was the one in the back of our first workshop with a serious scowl and with arms firmly crossed - became a mentor using these principles and part of a community of girls that actually want to stay close to their Moms! Wow!
Staying true to this approach,
we’re diving in for

“Jennifer has been an avid student of the Mothering & Daughtering approach - both personally and professionally. I’m a grandma now and I am thrilled that she is a next-generation wise woman of mothering circles. She is a skilled facilitator - heart smart as well as versed in the relational approach to mothering an adolescent daughter.
She’s gained her wisdom from being deep in the process with her own daughter. She suspected there was something wrong with the so-called conventional wisdom that we are supposed to lose connection with our daughters during the teen years. She joined our community almost 10 years ago when she was struggling in her relationship with her 13-year-old daughter. I watched as their relationship went from surviving to thriving. Jennifer is an essential and loving guide who you will want to be part of the village that is helping you raise your daughter!”

“Blessed is the mother who is able to share that journey with Jen. I’ve been lucky to share with Jen the joy and the heartbreak that comes with parenting.
With her, I have grown as a mother while learning to lead with love in every interaction with my children. Jen provides a safe space where all feelings are valid and comfort in moving forward is the end result.”
“I met Jennifer at a workshop 7 years ago. Since that time she has played an invaluable role as a mothering mentor and friend.
My teen daughter has struggled with her mental health and substance abuse and in my darkest moments, Jennifer was frequently my first call. I could always count on her to provide unconditional, heart-centric, loving and wise support. She met me mother-to-mother, knowing personally the struggles I was facing. Jennifer embodies the valuable combination of authenticity and empathy coupled with a nonjudgmental and deeply compassionate heart, making her a greatly valued and reliable friend and guide on the mothering journey.”
